The condition of Mircea Lucescu, the head coach of the Romanian national football team, has deteriorated again.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to the Romanian press that the experienced specialist's condition suddenly worsened during preparations for the friendly match with Slovakia on March 31, and the national team's medical staff provided the 80-year-old head coach with the first intervention. He was then taken by ambulance to a hospital in Bucharest.
The Federation announced that Lucescu's condition is currently stable:
"During the technical meeting before the last training session, Mircea Lucescu felt unwell. The national team's medical staff immediately intervened, and two emergency
ambulance crews arrived at the scene based on the call. In accordance with medical protocols and in order to eliminate any risk, the head coach was sent to the hospital for a detailed examination."
Some reports in the Romanian press claim that the experienced specialist suffered a heart attack, while other sources state that it was simply a drop in pressure. So far, no exact diagnosis regarding Lucescu's health has been officially confirmed.
It should be noted that Lucescu was hospitalized some time ago due to the same situation.
Let us remind you that during his career, Mircea Lucescu has worked with important teams such as "Galatasaray", "Beşiktaş", "Shakhtar" (Donetsk) and the Turkish national team.
