Michael Carrick will remain as the head coach of the English football club "Manchester United".
Idman.Biz reports with reference to the club's official website that the club has signed a new contract with the 44-year-old specialist until 2028.
Carrick returned to Manchester United as head coach in January and was named Premier League Manager of the Month after winning his first two games against Manchester City and Arsenal.
Under his leadership, the team qualified for the UEFA Champions League for the next season. "Manchester United" has won 11 out of 16 games during Carrick's tenure and has achieved one of the highest points records in the Premier League since his arrival.
Carrick has also been one of "Manchester United"'s most successful figures as a player. He played 464 games for the club, winning five Premier League titles, the FA Cup, two League Cups, the Champions League, the UEFA Europa League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
After the new contract, Michael Carrick said in a statement on the club's official website that "Manchester United" has a special meaning for him:
"From the first moment I arrived here 20 years ago, I felt the magic of "Manchester United". The responsibility of leading our special football club gives me great pride. Over the past five months, this group of players has shown that it can reach the standards of resilience, unity and determination that we demand here.
