There has been a change of head coach at the German football club "Union Berlin".
Idman.Biz reports that the Bundesliga representative has appointed Mauro Lustrinelli as the new head coach of the main team. The 50-year-old Swiss specialist replaced Mari-Luiza Eta in this position.
Eta started acting as the head coach of "Union Berlin" in April. With this, she became the first female head coach in the Bundesliga and the top five European leagues to lead a men's team.
The 34-year-old specialist managed to keep the team in the elite during her short tenure. Eta scored seven points in five matches.
Lustrinelli moved to "Union Berlin" from the Swiss club "Thun". He became the Swiss champion with this team in the 2025/26 season. The official statement of "Union Berlin" emphasized that he has international experience and a development-oriented game philosophy.
Eta, as previously agreed, will lead Union Berlin's women's team.
