Canadian national team footballer Marcelo Flores will miss the 2026 World Cup. Sport24.az reports that the 22-year-old midfielder has torn his anterior cruciate ligament and will miss the mundial.
Flores wrote the following on his social media account:
"Sorry, I haven't been able to answer anyone yet, I'm going through very difficult days right now. My ACL is torn. Thank you to everyone for all the messages and support you have sent me. I will come back stronger."
It should be noted that Flores made his debut in the national team in March of this year. The Canadian national team will compete in Group D with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar, and Switzerland.
