After the "Turan Tovuz" - "Sabah" match (1:2) in the XXXIII round of the Misli Premier League, the head coach of the Tovuz team, Kurban Berdyev, answered journalists' questions. Sport24.az reports that the specialist first shared his thoughts on the match:
– It was an interesting game. Unfortunately, we could not capitalize on goal opportunities. It's a game where I can't say anything bad to my players. They played with all their might. There was an opportunity to give young players a chance. We let them onto the field.
– How do you assess the season?
– I rate it as a successful season. But there were some games where we lost points unnecessarily. I thanked the players in the locker room for the season.
– At the beginning of the season, Ehtiram Guliyev stated that our goal is the championship. Can "Turan Tovuz" compete for the championship next season?
– I am very happy that the club's leader sets maximum goals. This is a very important issue, and it also increases responsibility. This season showed that strengthening the squad is crucial. "Sabah" proved it. They gathered a very strong squad. They have good head coaches, and as a result, they became champions. We will also try to strengthen the squad. But it is difficult to say how much our budget will allow us to do so. We understand very well how our financial capabilities are.
– Is it possible to achieve successful results in European cups with "Turan Tovuz"?
– Everything will depend on strengthening the squad. This is also related to financial capabilities. If our team gets stronger, our chances will also be high.
