Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola, who plays in the English Premier League, has suggested that he may have to learn Uzbek in order to communicate with the team's Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov. Sport24.az reports that the Spanish coach said this at the post-match press conference.
Yesterday, the "cityzens" defeated "Chelsea" 3:1 in their home field. Khusanov, who joined the club on January 20, made his debut in the home team. At the beginning of the game, the guests opened the score after the defender's unsuccessful pass to his own team's goalkeeper:
"He will learn, he is young and will learn from it. He doesn't speak English, so I have nothing to say in such moments. He knows he made a mistake, what can I say in this situation? He doesn't want to make mistakes, and we know that. Apparently, I will have to learn Russian or Uzbek to communicate with him."
He also clarified the reason for Khusanov's substitution at the beginning of the second half: "I substituted him because of the yellow card, not because of the mistake."
It should be noted that Manchester City (41 points) is in the fourth place of the tournament table. Khusanov's team will go to Arsenal in the next round. "Topçular" with 47 points are in second place. The leader of the tournament table is Arne Slot's Liverpool (53).
