Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus does not intend to return to the Brazilian national team after leaving his position as head coach of Al-Nassr. Sport24.az reports that he made a statement to the newspaper "A Bola" about this:
"In Brazil, I can only work at Flamengo or in the national team. Last January (I decided to refuse the Brazilian national team), I will not say that I regret it, but at that time I accepted the offer of Al-Hilal. Because I wanted to go to the Club World Cup and win the Asian Champions League. In the end, I couldn't achieve either. But these are the decisions we have to make in life. Football is my job. I am a passionate coach who, in addition to losing, wins most of the time. When projects end, I usually have several options to choose from, as is the case now. No club in Europe can afford my salary."
It should be noted that the 71-year-old Portuguese specialist coached Flamengo from June 2019 to July 2020. Under his leadership, the team won the Brazilian Championship, the Rio de Janeiro Championship and the Libertadores Cup.
