A draw ceremony was held to determine the nominal home team for the play-off match for a place in the I League. Sport24.az reports that representatives of the Professional Football League, "Shimal", the 9th team of the I League, and "Garadagh Lokbatan", the 2nd team of the II League, participated in the ceremony.
The PFL was represented by Elvin Yaqubov, the chief specialist of the Department of Organization and Registration of Competitions, "Shimal" by manager Taleh Badirkhanov, and "Garadagh Lokbatan" by the club's general manager Babir Hasanov. According to the draw, "Shimal" became the nominal home team and will carry out all organizational issues as the nominal home team.
After the draw, a meeting was held between the club representatives and the Professional Football League. At the meeting, Elgiz Abbasov, the technical and sports director of the Professional Football League, gave detailed information about the initial organizational issues related to the play-off game, the rules of the play-off game, and other nuances to be taken into account, and the club officials' plans for the game were listened to.
According to the decision of the PFL, the play-off match for the I League will be held on May 27 at the Shamakhi city stadium. The meeting will start at 16:00 and will be broadcast live on the "CBC Sport" TV channel. The VAR system will be applied in the game.
