England's striker and captain Harry Kane has matched the legendary goalkeeper Peter Shilton's record by the number of appearances for the national team.
Idman.Biz reports that in the fourth match of Group 3 of the UEFA Nations League A, the encounter with the Czech Republic marked the 33‑year‑old forward's 125th appearance for his country.
England won the match 3‑0. Kane also scored a brace. With this, he has become England's top scorer with 91 goals.
Thanks to Kane's goals, he has surpassed Malaysia's Mokhtar Dahari (89 goals) on the list of the most prolific players in national team history.
Currently, only six players rank above Kane on the international scorers list: Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal, 146 goals), Lionel Messi (Argentina, 125), Ali Daei (Iran, 108), Sunil Chhetri (India, 95), Romelu Lukaku (Belgium, 94) and Robert Lewandowski (Poland, 92).
