Rasul Mitsayev, the goalkeeper of the Russian Second League football team "Veles", has been remembered for a scandal in the away match against "Sibir".
Idman.Biz reports that "Sibir" defeated "Veles" 1:0 in the 15th round match of the league. The chief referee of the match, Vladislav Kharitonov, showed five red cards during the game.
The incident happened in the 24th minute after "Veles" defender Marat Kovalkov received a red card for a rough foul. Team captain Rasul Mitsayev protested the referee's decision and initially received a yellow card. After that, the goalkeeper lightly pushed the referee and was punished with a straight red card.
While leaving the field, Mitsayev repeated the statement made by famous Russian goalkeeper Sergei Ovchinnikov in 2006. He reminded the referee that he was the captain and cursed him with an emotional reaction.
In total, two "Veles" players, head coach Alexei Stukalov, and another member of the coaching staff received red cards in the match. At the end of the match, "Sibir" defender Sergei Zapalatski was sent off after receiving a second yellow card. "Sibir" scored the winning goal at the end of the first half with a shot by Denis Pokotilo.
