The midfielder of the Scottish football team, Paul Tansy, was red-carded for a quarrel with a fan.
Sport.News reports that the incident occurred in the 88th minute of the game against "Penicuik Athletic" in the first round of the Scottish Cup.
After being substituted, Tansy took off his jersey and climbed into the stands, confronting the fan who had been abusing him during the game. Other people intervened, preventing a possible clash between the player and the spectator. The referee then showed the midfielder a straight red card.
Although "Hawick Royal Albert" equalized in the last minutes of regular time, they conceded a goal in extra time and lost 1-2, eliminating them from the tournament.
