Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca spoke about the main problem of Italian football.
Lent.az reports with reference to foreign media that, according to the specialist, the Champions League final clearly demonstrated that the chances of success today are greater in young teams.
Maresca noted that Italy still prefers older and more experienced players, and for this reason, the country's football lags behind the pace of development in the world. According to him, focusing on young people is the key to progress.
"The Champions League final showed the advantage of a young team capable of great technical football, expressed in excessive pace, energy, pressing and attacking talent. Luis Enrique built an impressive PSG, and I am also trying to do this at Chelsea.
Nevertheless, Inter should see two Champions League finals in three years as an achievement, not a failure. Simone Inzaghi should be proud of his work, especially since he is now doing it in an ecosystem different from the rest of the world.
Only in Italy do they still think that footballers are too young and games are won with experience. This is a cultural choice, which inevitably means that you will lose in terms of energy. Italian football is struggling to keep up with the pace offered by other approaches," he stressed.
