Despite the US warning about a 21-day quarantine before entering the country due to the Ebola epidemic in the African country, the DR Congo national team does not intend to change its preparations for the World Cup. Sport24.az reports that Reuters news agency has reported on this.
According to the source, a representative of the national team said that the training program remained unchanged. The Congo team also plans to hold 2 friendly matches. The African representative will face Denmark in Liege, Belgium on June 3, and Chile in Cadiz, Spain on June 9.
The only change to the program is the cancellation of the team's three-day trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo (Kinshasa) for a farewell ceremony before their first World Cup in 52 years. It should be noted that this visit was canceled before the US warning.
The national team camp emphasized that none of the players in the squad were in the Democratic Republic of Congo during the Ebola epidemic. The entire squad, including head coach Sebastien Desabre, was abroad, mainly in Europe.
