Brazil national team head coach Carlo Ancelotti has responded to demands from some members of the football community to include Santos striker Neymar in the final squad for the 2026 World Cup.
Idman.Biz reports that the coach had previously excluded the player from the squad for the upcoming friendly matches.
"I see and hear everything. But my job is to make decisions. It is perfectly normal for everyone to express their opinion, because there is no universal truth in football. Everyone can express their opinion, because football is not an exact science. Everyone has their own opinion and I have to respect everyone's opinion.
I don't want to give any hints, especially because I respect the players who are not here (laughs). I will make this decision in May, but in general, three goalkeepers have already been finalized.
The defenders have been more or less finalized. We have three new players for this training camp: Leo Pereira, Bremer and [Roger] Ibanez. We want to assess not their physical preparation, but how they adapt to the team. They all have everything they need to play in the World Cup. We will take four or five players with us, considering that one of them can play as a right-back," ESPN quotes Ancelotti as saying.
