The names of the five leading candidates to replace Gianni Infantino as FIFA president have been announced.

The list of candidates is as follows:
Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of the "Paris Saint-Germain" club and chairman of the European Club Football Association (EFC);
Victor Montalyani, FIFA vice-president and president of the North, Central American and Caribbean Football Confederation (CONCACAF);
Aleksander Ceferin, UEFA president;
Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, president of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC);
Patrice Motsepe, president of the African Football Confederation (CAF).
It is noted that Montalyani is the most logical choice, as he works as vice-president of the FIFA Council and is therefore well-versed in the organization's internal affairs.
The deadline for candidates to submit their applications is November 18, 2026. Only a national football association can nominate a candidate. The candidate must receive the support of at least five federations. The FIFA presidential election itself is scheduled to take place on March 18, 2027, in Rabat, Morocco.
