According to investigation reports, players, coaches, and managers have been betting on illegal websites operating in Albania, Bulgaria, and Northern Cyprus.
Earlier, the president of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), Ibrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, announced that the disciplinary committee had suspended 149 referees for betting on football games.
Turkish prosecutors have issued arrest warrants for 17 referees and 21 people, including the president of one of the country's leading football clubs. According to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, at least 18 unnamed suspects were detained in morning raids in Istanbul and 11 other provinces.
