Benjamin Mendy, the former Manchester City and France defender who currently plays for Polish club Pogon, has sold a replica of the World Cup at an auction held by Goldin in the US.
Sport.Biz reports this citing the French newspaper L'Équipe.
The 2018 World Cup winner sold the replica at an auction that ended on July 25. The award was sold for 54,000 euros, a price slightly lower than expected due to minor scratches and wear on the base found during inspection. The buyer also received a certificate signed by Mendy.
Mendy has previously played for Havre, Marseille, Monaco, Manchester City, Lorient, and Sion. He won the French championship with Monaco and three Premier League titles, two League Cups, and the French Super Cup with Manchester City.
