Qarabag's and Azerbaijani national team defender Bahlul Mustafazade has been ranked among the fastest football players of the 2025/26 Champions League season.
Idman.Biz reports that the Azerbaijani player holds the seventh position in the UEFA ranking based on the maximum speed shown by players in tournament matches.
Mustafazade was able to reach a speed of 36.51 km/h. In this indicator, he surpassed Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli (36.4 km/h), Newcastle forward Anthony Gordon (36.4 km/h) and Liverpool defender Jeremie Frimpong (36.3 km/h).

The ranking is headed by Bayer forward Patrik Schick, PSG defender Lucas Hernandez and Cypriot Pafos forward Jaja Dimata. All three showed the same maximum speed - 39.6 km/h.
Interestingly, among the players in the top ten, Mustafazade is the only player representing an Azerbaijani club. In addition, he was the fastest center-back among players from clubs not representing the top 5 European championships.
It should be reminded that Qarabag played 16 matches in the 2025/26 Champions League and advanced to the play-in matches of the tournament's play-off stage. Mustafazade participated in nine matches and scored one goal.
