Aziz Yıldırım, the candidate for the presidency of Fenerbahçe, made a number of statements before the presidential elections to be held on June 6-7. Sport24.az reports that he offered to merge with Hakan Safi, another candidate for the presidency:
"They are not our rivals. A Fenerbahçe fan cannot be a rival to another Fenerbahçe fan. This club has seen many presidents in its 120-year history. I have contributed half of these 120 years, and whenever I look at myself, I only see Fenerbahçe. I am calling out to Ali Koç and Hakan Safi from here: let's all come together and take Fenerbahçe to the championship."
