Antonio Conte, the head coach of the Italian football club "Napoli", has decided to leave the team.
Idman.Biz reports that the 56-year-old specialist will part ways with the Naples representative at the end of the season. Italian media writes that the parties will separate by mutual agreement and Conte will waive the last year of his contract.
Conte also commented on allegations that he would lead the Italian national team. He said that he has no agreement with the Italian Football Federation yet:
"There is nothing between us and the Italian Football Federation. Zero for now. We'll see what happens in the future."
The specialist recalled that even the presidential election has not taken place in the federation:
"There is no federation president yet. But let me say this: Is Italy ready to appoint a top coach?"
Conte also touched upon the news surrounding Pep Guardiola's name. He stated that one of the strongest candidates for the Italian national team could be the Spanish specialist:
"I am reading about Pep Guardiola. If I had to suggest a name, I would say Pep. But do they have the financial means to make it happen? It's too early to say."
It should be noted that Conte has been coaching "Napoli" since 2024. His possible return to the Italian national team has become one of the main topics in the press in recent weeks. Previously, Conte led the Italian national team in 2014-2016.
