Turkan Mammadyarova's victory in the Azerbaijani Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship has a very positive impact on her children. The 36-year-old grandmaster said this herself.
She shared her thoughts on the competition, where she took first place with 13 points based on the results of two tournaments.
"My impressions are very good. I have been the champion of Azerbaijan before. I have experienced this joy in classical chess, blitz, and various age groups. But I haven't had such success in recent years because I've been spending time with my children," she said in a statement to Report.
T.Mammadyarova emphasized that her recent victory gave her extra joy:
"My playing well, becoming a champion, and achieving such success has a very positive impact on my children. They are proud and happy with their mother as a chess player. But I don't stay away from this sport. My son is also a chess player. We often play together. But as a mother of three children, I can't devote as much time to chess due to work. Nevertheless, I am not far from chess."
The experienced grandmaster reminded that the Azerbaijani Championship in classical chess will also be held:
"I will try to achieve good results there as well. I didn't play badly in the previous competition either. I passed the first stage. Then I lost to Govhar Beydullayeva. This time we will also compete for a high result."
