The city of Shamakhi will host the next international competition as part of the "Azerbaijan Chess Tour". According to the press service of the Chess Federation, Sport24.az reports that the "Shamakhi Open" International Chess Festival will be held from July 15 to 22, 2026.
The competition will be organized jointly by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, and the Vugar Hashimov Chess Foundation.
Classic, rapid and blitz competitions will be held within the framework of the festival. The total prize fund of the tournament is 23,300 AZN.
