The opening ceremony of the "Shamakhi Open 2026" International Chess Festival has been held.
Idman.Biz reports that during the ceremony, the organizers and guests congratulated the participants, wishing them good luck and emphasizing the contribution of the tournament to the development of chess.
Note that along with Azerbaijan, chess players from various countries are competing in the festival.
The competition is held in accordance with FIDE rules, and the results are counted towards the international rating.
