Shahriyar Mamedyarov has qualified for the final of the Azerbaijan Chess Championship.
According to "Report", the 40-year-old grandmaster defeated Aydin Suleymanli in the tie-break of the semi-final stage.
He will meet Mahammad Muradli in the final.
A. Suleymanli will face Read Samadov in the match for third place.
In the women's chess final, Ulviyya Fataliyeva will face Ayan Allahverdiyeva. In the match for third place, Gulnar Mammadova will compete with Turkan Mamedyarova.
The championship will end on February 22. The prize fund of the competition is 92 thousand manats. Of this amount, 62 thousand manats are for the men's championship, and 30 thousand manats are for the women's championship.
