The International Chess Federation (FIDE) released the rating tables for rapid and blitz chess in early August, following the classic chess rating.
Idman.biz reports that Shahriyar Mamedyarov has the highest rating among Azerbaijani grandmasters in rapid chess.
He is ranked 19th with a rating of 2701. Teymur Rajabov (2661) is 37th, and Eltaj Safarli (2627) is 71st.
The leader in rapid is Magnus Carlsen (Norway, 2809), followed by Ding Liren (China, 2770) and Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia, 2762).
In blitz chess, Mamedyarov is ranked 38th with 2676 points. Rajabov is 59th with 2646 points. There are two more chess players in the top 100: Eltaj Safarli (2634) – 73rd, and Rauf Mammadov (2609) – 95th.
The leader in blitz chess is also Magnus Carlsen (2881). Hikaru Nakamura (USA, 2838) is in second place, and Alireza Firouzja (France, 2814) is in third place.
