Sarkhan Hashimov, brother of the late chess player and European champion Vugar Hashimov, has been nominated for the position of Vice President of the European Chess Union (ECU).
Idman.Biz reports that the ECU official website has released information about this.
It was reported that S. Hashimov's candidacy was submitted by the Azerbaijan Chess Federation (ACF). The ACF supports Georgian Zurab Azmaiparashvili in the elections for the position of President of the Union.
It should be noted that the elections for the leadership of the European Chess Union will be held on June 18 this year.
