The prize fund of the Azerbaijan First League in chess, which will start on January 6, has been announced.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to "Report" that this was announced by Sanan Shafizade, press secretary of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation.
He also announced the number of chess players who will participate in the championship:
"The prize fund in the men's competition is 7,000 manats, and in the women's competition it is 3,000 manats. 40 men and 20 women will participate in the competition. The top 9 in the men's competition will advance to the higher league. This step was taken to create greater competition. Because competition is strong among men. In the women's competition, the top 2 will advance to the Azerbaijan Championship."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan First League will be held between January 6-14.
