The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has announced its new rating list for April.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to the official website of FIDE that the highest indicator among Azerbaijani chess players belongs to Shahriyar Mammadyarov.
The 40-year-old grandmaster is ranked 27th in the world ranking with 2715 points.
Teymur Rajabov is 37th with 2698 points, Aydin Suleymanli is 64th with 2653 points, Eltaj Safarli is 67th with 2648 points, and Rauf Mammadov is 87th with 2636 points.
Among female chess players, Ulviyya Fataliyeva rose to 29th place with 2431 points. Gunay Mammadzada is 64th with 2374 points, Govhar Beydullayeva is 85th with 2358 points, and Khanim Balajayeva is 92nd with 2350 points.
The list is again headed by Norwegian chess player Magnus Carlsen (2840). US representatives Hikaru Nakamura (2810) is second, and Fabiano Caruana (2793) is third.
