The national chess championship among boys and girls aged 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 has come to an end. Sport24.az reports that the competition was held for the first time outside the capital - in the Ganja Sports Palace in Ganja.
Mahir Mammadov, President of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, Vice-President of the International Chess Federation, who participated in the closing ceremony of the national championship, congratulated the winners and wished them success in the next competitions.

It should be noted that the prize-winning chess players in each age group were awarded diplomas and medals of the appropriate degree. The Azerbaijani champions will be sent to the World Championship and European Championship of 2026 in the corresponding age group, and the chess players who took 2nd place will be sent to the European Championship of 2026 in the corresponding age group. The chess players who take the 3rd place will be given financial support up to 2,000 AZN to participate in a rated international competition.
