The national chess championship among boys and girls aged 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 has concluded.

It was reported that the competition was held for the first time outside the capital - at the Ganja Sports Palace in Ganja. The President of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, Vice-President of the International Chess Federation Mahir Mammadov congratulated the winners and wished them success in the next competitions.

Boys and girls under 8 - Ziya Qubatov (Guba), Amina Amanzade (Baku)
Boys and girls under 10 - Nurlan Ganizade (Baku), Nurjan Tahirova (Ganja)
Boys and girls under 12 - Safa Hummatov (Baku), Mehriban Ahmadli (Ganja)
Boys and girls under 14 - Shamsi Garakhanov (Baku), Zahra Allahverdi (Mingachevir)
Boys and girls under 16 - Pasham Alizade (Baku), Lala Huseynova (Baku)
Boys and girls under 18 - Tunar Davudov (Baku), Narmin Abdinova (Baku)
It should be noted that the prize-winning chess players in each age group were awarded diplomas and medals of the appropriate degree. The Azerbaijani champions in the respective age group will be sent to the 2026 World Championship and European Championship, and the chess players who take second place will be sent to the 2026 European Championship in the respective age group. The chess players who take third place will receive financial support of 2,000 manats to participate in a rated international competition.
