The "Golden Apricot" international open chess tournament was held in Malatya, Turkey.
Idman.biz reports that 486 chess players, including 96 foreign and 390 local players from 11 countries, competed in the traditional competition, which was held for the 8th time.
10 chess players from the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic participated in the tournament. Three of them achieved successful results.
Urfan Sevdimaliyev and Parviz Gasimov, who competed in group A of the competition, were among the prize-winners by making it into the top "ten". In group B, veteran chess player Baheddin Hatamov was awarded 3rd place.
It should be noted that Nakhchivan chess players are also participating in the "Betav Open" international tournament, which started in Bitlis, Turkey. The team is represented by 20 athletes in this competition.
