11-time Olympic champion and decorated Norwegian athlete Johannes Klæbo has become an investor in the chess company "Norway Chess AS".
Idman.Biz reports that, in addition to Klæbo, footballer Erling Haaland and former cyclist Thor Hushovd have previously invested in the Norwegian company.
"Chess is a long-term investment for me.
I really believe in the concept and am sure that I can contribute to creating value in this large-scale and truly international sport," Ski-Nordique quotes Klæbo as saying.
According to reports, the investment will, among other things, be directed towards the organization and development of the Total Chess World Championship Tour, which is scheduled to be held for the first time in the fall of 2026.
