Azerbaijan's leading grandmaster Shahriyar Mamedyarov has weakened his position in the updated world ranking, while Ulviyya Fataliyeva has set a personal record.
According to Idman.Biz, the International Chess Federation (FIDE) has published the world ranking as of December 1.
According to the updated indicators, Shahriyar Mamedyarov dropped from 14th place to 19th place with 2730 points. His close neighbors are Levon Aronian (USA, 2729) and Le Kuang Liem (Vietnam, 2731).
Other Azerbaijani chess players in the top 100 of the world ranking: Teymur Rajabov (2692) - 37th place, Rauf Mammadov (2645) - 78th place, Eltaj Safarli (2644) - 79th place and Aydin Suleymanli (2628) - 99th place.
