Idman.Biz reports that this was said by the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov during his speech at the next reporting conference of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation.
The Minister emphasized that chess has been developing rapidly in Azerbaijan in recent times.
"It is impossible not to rejoice at the success of our chess players. The attention and care that the head of state, President Ilham Aliyev, shows to sports, including chess, is obvious. Thanks to his support, our athletes achieve success in international arenas," said Farid Gayibov.
He also highly appreciated the activities of the President of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, Mahir Mammadov:
"Of course, we cannot fail to note the work of Mahir Mammadov. He works hard and does his best for the development of Azerbaijani chess," the minister added.
