According to the source, the chess player died of poisoning after taking a drug cocktail. A cocktail of methamphetamine and amphetamine, as well as mitragynine, a substance with opioid-like effects, was found in Naroditsky's body.
Naroditsky died on October 19, 2025. He was 29 years old. In 2015, he was a member of the US team at the World Team Chess Championship. He earned the grandmaster title at the age of 18. Naroditsky is also known for writing several books about chess.
