The chess championship of Turkic-speaking countries was held in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The Azerbaijani national women's team, consisting of Ulviyya Fataliyeva, Gunay Mammadzada, Govhar Beydullayeva, Khanim Balajayeva and Gulnar Mammadova, won four victories and drew two in six matches. In the end, our team, captained by Ilaha Gadimova, scored 10 points and won the title of champion and won the gold medal. Kazakhstan took second place, and Uzbekistan took third place.

Azerbaijan's U-16 team, consisting of Khagan Ahmad, Shamsi Garakhanov, Pasham Alizade and Lala Huseynova, also made a successful performance. The team, which won five victories in six rounds, scored 10 points and took first place and won a gold medal. The team's captain was Farid Abbasov. Silver and bronze medals went to the first and second teams of Kazakhstan.

The Azerbaijani men's team finished the tournament with a bronze medal. The team consisting of Ahmad Ahmadzade, Misratdin Iskandarov, Khazar Babazade, Shiroglan Talibov and Murad Ibrahimli scored 7 points by winning three victories in six rounds and took third place.
