Azerbaijani chess players will participate in the "Grand Swiss 2025" international tournament to be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
This was reported to "Report" by the press service of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation.
Shahriyar Mammadyarov, Rauf Mammadov, Aydin Suleymanli, Mahammad Muradli, Ulviyya Fataliyeva, Govhar Beydullayeva and Khanim Balajayeva will represent our country in the prestigious competition.
"Grand Swiss 2025", which will start tomorrow and last until September 15, will consist of 11 rounds according to the Swiss system. Based on the final result, the four strongest chess players, including 2 men and 2 women, will qualify for the Candidates Tournament.
It should be noted that the prize fund of the competition is 855,000 US dollars.
