Azerbaijani chess players Gunay Mammadzada and Ulviyya Fataliyeva have reached the top ten at the individual European Women's Championship held in Batumi, Georgia.
Idman.Biz reports that Mammadzada is in sixth place with 3.5 points after four rounds of the continental championship. Fataliyeva, with three points, is in tenth place.
In the fourth round, Gunay defeated Gabriela Antova of Bulgaria and will face Olivia Kiołbasa (Poland) in the fifth round. Ulviyya drew with Nadia Toncheva of Bulgaria in the reporting round and will face Anna Kazaryan (Netherlands) in the next round.
It should be reminded that the continental championship held in Batumi is the first serious tournament for Gunay Mammadzada after a break due to the birth of her child.
