Today, the Azerbaijan national men's chess team will play its decisive match at the European Team Championship held in Batumi (Georgia). According to Sport24.az, our team will face Serbia in the final round.
The team, consisting of Shahriyar Mammadyarov, Rauf Mammadov, Aydin Suleymanli, Mahammad Muradli and Eltaj Safarli, shares the lead with the Ukrainian national team with 13 points after 8 rounds. If the team wins today, it will secure its fourth championship title.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan's men's national team won the continental championship in 2009, 2013 and 2017.
