The semifinal stage of the Azerbaijan Chess Championship will begin today. Sport24.az reports that in the men's competition, the tournament's rating favorite, Shahriyar Mamedyarov, will face Aydin Suleymanli, and Read Samadov will face Mahammad Muradli.
In the women's competition, Ulviyya Fataliyeva will face Gulnar Mammadova, and Turkan Mamedyarova will face Aykhan Allahverdiyeva.
It should be noted that the championship will end on February 22. The prize fund of the competition is 92 thousand manats. Of this amount, 62 thousand manats belong to the men's championship, and 30 thousand manats to the women's championship.
