"Young chess players will also compete in the championship. We expect exciting games".
These words were said by Aydın Suleymanli, a member of the Azerbaijan national chess team, in an interview with İdman.Biz.
Suleymanli stated that he wants to compensate for last year's failure this time.
"This time I had enough time to prepare for the tournament. I hope I get the result I want.
It will not be easy to compete against experienced chess players such as Shahriyar Mammadyarov, Rauf Mammadov, and Eltaj Safarli. I have never played classical chess against them. It will be a great experience for me," he said.
30 male and 16 female chess players will compete in the Azerbaijan Championship. The total prize fund of the competition is 92 thousand manats. 62 thousand manats of the amount belongs to the men's championship, and 30 thousand manats to the women's championship.
The championship will end on February 22.
