Astana, Kazakhstan will host the open chess championship among Turkic-speaking countries. According to Sport24.az, chess players from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan, along with Azerbaijan, will participate in the competition, which will be held from May 14-17.
Our country will compete in both men's and women's events at the championship.
The Azerbaijani men's chess team will consist of Ahmad Ahmadzade, Misratdin Iskandarov, Khazar Babazade, Shiroglan Talibov, and Murad Ibrahimli. The team captain will be Gadir Huseynov.
Ulviyya Fataliyeva, Gunay Mammadzada, Govhar Beydullayeva, Khanim Balajayeva, and Gulnar Mammadova have been invited to the women's team. Ilaha Gadimova has been confirmed as the captain.
A championship among 16-year-olds will also be held within the framework of the tournament. In the U16 tournament, our country will be represented by Khagan Ahmad, Shamsi Garakhanov, Pasham Alizade, and Lala Huseynova under the leadership of Captain Farid Abbasov.
According to the regulations, 30 seconds will be added to each move in games consisting of 45 minutes. A total of 7 rounds will be played.
