The play-off system is a regulation suitable for our chess players' competition.
"Report" reports that this was stated by the President of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation (ASCF), Mahir Mammadov, in his statement to journalists after the closing ceremony of the national championship.
The ASCF president stated that there was great interest in the championship:
"It is gratifying that the championship caused a great stir both among the fans and in the media. Next year, we will probably increase the prize fund a little more. Mahammad Muradli became the champion of Azerbaijan for the third time. Many supported Shahriyar Mammadyarov, but unfortunately, he lost this time as well. In women's chess, Ulviyya Fataliyeva became the champion for the first time. She had very intense feelings when she left the competition in the last championship. This year, she achieved her dream. Ayan also played very well, frankly, I expected her to win."
