The Baku City Chess Championship among boys born in 2016-2017 (10 years old) and born in 2018 and younger (8 years old) was held jointly by the Baku City Youth and Sports Department and the Azerbaijan Chess Federation.
Idman.Biz reports that the competition was organized under the Public Legal Entity of the Republic Specialized Olympic Reserves Children and Youth Sports-Chess School No. 3 of the "Təhsil" Republic Sports Center. A total of 58 chess players participated in the championship, which took place in an interesting and intense competitive environment.
Winners among chess players born in 2016–2017:
1st place – Hasanov Yashar
2nd place – Mammadli Mehdi
3rd place – Mammadrzayev Renat
Winners among chess players born in 2018:
1st place – Agalarov Tarlan
2nd place – Alxasov Shair
3rd place – Garayev Omar
The winners were awarded diplomas and medals from the Baku City Youth and Sports Department.
It should be noted that the chess players who took the first 6 places in each age group in the championship won the right to participate in the Azerbaijan Championship.
