With the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, organized and led by the Azerbaijan Karate Federation, the XXXIII National Shotokan Karate Championship was held. Sport24.az reports that about 400 athletes from Baku, Sumgayit, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Ganja, Shirvan, Gazakh, Sheki, Ujar, Lankaran, Salyan and other regions tested their strength in the competition held at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex.
About 30 clubs from different regions of the republic participated in the championship.
The event was attended by Elchin Mehdizade, member of the board of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation, head of the Shotokan Karate style, Vusal Abdullazade, assistant to the president of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation, well-known representatives of the sports community, coaches, judges, athletes and sports fans.
In the team standings, the "Garagaplan" Sports Club took first place, the "Arpachay" Karate Club took second place, and the MES - "Budokan" Sports Club took third place.
