The World Boxing Cup continues in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
Idman.biz reports that 2 boxers of the Azerbaijani national team started the competition with a victory, in which about 300 athletes from 30 countries participate.
Mahammadali Gasimzade (60 kg) defeated Dongwan Yang (South Korea) in the 1/8 finals. Our boxer won with a score of 5:0 (29:28, 30:27, 29:28, 30:27, 29:28). In his second match, he will fight Yohan Aguera (Dominican Republic).
Mahammad Abdullayev (+90 kg) eliminated Byeknur Khalini (Mongolia). The national team member won with a score of 5:0 (30:26, 30:25, 30:26, 30:25, 30:25) and advanced to the 1/4 finals. In this stage, Abdullayev will face Taeung Yu (South Korea), who was exempt from the first match.
Both matches will take place on July 3.
It should be noted that Emil Gurbanaliyev and Anar Babanli represent our country as referees in the World Cup, in which we participate with 11 boxers.
