29-year-old Russian MMA fighter Umar Nurmagomedov has clarified the reason for the fall he experienced during his fight against American Mario Bautista at the UFC 321 tournament.
Idman.Biz reports that he stated this at the post-fight press conference.
Nurmagomedov emphasized that this is a very bad habit he has: "It's a mistake I have, I always lean forward. I've done it many times, and coaches, including Khabib, are constantly telling me not to do it, I need to get rid of this habit. Today I paid the price for it. Of course, we are not perfect."
Despite the fall, Umar won the fight by unanimous decision of the judges (30–27, 30–27, 30–27). He has 19 wins and 1 loss in his professional career, including 7 wins and 1 loss in UFC fights.
