Azerbaijani MMA fighter Tofiq Musayev explained the reason why his fight against Kyrgyz opponent Myktybek Oralbai within the "UFC Fight Night: Hill vs Rountree Jr." took place at 74.8 kg.
According to "Report", he stated that he has never had any problems with the weight loss process during his career.
The fighter emphasized that he always approaches this process responsibly:
"Everything was going according to plan this time as well. I only had to lose 900 grams last night. But the UFC team contacted us and said that the opponent could no longer continue to lose weight. He was under the supervision of doctors all night. As you can see, today he was 5 kilograms overweight from the division limit. They asked for my opinion, they even wanted to postpone the fight. But I accepted this fight. I ate breakfast, drank water, so my weight exceeded 73 kilograms.
I am fighting in my homeland. This is a historical tournament for my country. I could not allow this fight to be postponed, I could not let down either the UFC or the fans. After all, everyone is waiting for this fight. I will do my best to win," he said.
