The traditional "Korean Ambassador's Cup" in taekwondo was held at the Sports and Health Club of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
İdman.biz reports that 145 young athletes born in 2008, 2009 and 2010, representing 35 clubs, competed in the Olympic weight categories.
At the opening ceremony of the competition, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Korea to our country, Kang Kımgu, and the Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Taekwondo Federation, Hikmet Samadov, spoke. After the official speeches, the tournament was declared open.
A presentation of taekwondo equipment provided by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Azerbaijan and an interesting lottery game for the participants were held.
In the artistic part of the competition, members of the exemplary performance team (demo team) of the Azerbaijan Taekwondo Federation demonstrated a colorful performance program.
Then the final matches started. In the overall team score, the "Farasat" team took first place.
"Absheron-Khizi" and "Gafgaz" teams were awarded second and third places, respectively.
