Another Azerbaijani boxer has advanced to the 1/8 finals of the World Championship held in Liverpool.
The federation informed "Report" about this.
National team member Saidjamshid Jafarov (75 kg) finished his first fight with a victory. He defeated Gavin Rafferty (Ireland) in the 1/16 finals. Jafarov, who scored in all three rounds, eventually won with a score of 5:0 (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:26).
He will hold his next meeting against Daigo Sunaga (Japan), who is exempt from the first stage.
Note that the fight will take place on September 9.
